Exclusive and Excellent
Our plants are exclusive and rare, which means they often have slightly more specific needs than the average houseplant. Think of them as luxury beauties: with a little extra love (and the right care), they truly reveal just how special they are. This includes finding the right spot with plenty of light, maintaining stable humidity, watering them carefully, and providing the right nutrients at the right time. If you give them that attention, you’ll be rewarded with healthy growth, beautiful leaves, and a plant that remains a true showstopper for years to come.
Pot & Soil: The Right Foundation
Always use a pot with drainage holes and a light, well-draining potting mix. Our plants love a mixture of orchid bark, perlite, and coconut fiber—exactly what they’re used to in nature.
Water: Water with love 💧
It’s better to underwater than to overwater. The roots of tropical plants don’t like wet feet! Always check the soil: is the top layer dry? If so, you can water them. Preferably use rainwater or filtered water—they’ll really appreciate it.
Light: Let them shine!
Most of our unique plants love plenty of (indirect) light. So place them near a window, but not in direct, bright sunlight—even for a tropical diva, that’s a bit too much of a good thing. Do you have a plant with variegated leaves? Those often love light even more! Note: Some plants, such as Anthuriums and Alocasias, can get sensitive leaves from direct sunlight. Do you see brown edges? Then give them a slightly shadier spot.
Nutrition: Boost growth
During the growing season (March through September), you can give them a little plant food each month. Use a mild, all-purpose fertilizer and follow the recommended dosage. In the winter? It’s a time of rest for the plant, so put the fertilizer away for a while.
Humidity: Spa!
Our exclusive plants thrive in high humidity. Group them together, use a humidifier, or treat them to a light misting every now and then. Anthuriums, Hoyas, and Alocasias, in particular, are real spa lovers!
Pest Control: Keeping an Eye on Things
Check your plants regularly for pests such as spider mites, thrips, or aphids. If you see anything suspicious, isolate the plant and treat it immediately with an eco-friendly solution. Prevention is better than cure!
Repotting: Room to Grow
Repot your plant every 1–2 years, especially if you see roots growing out of the bottom of the pot. This will keep your plant healthy and allow it to keep growing.
